Would you be open to someone (i.e. me) joining you on a shoot in the next couple of months? Cheers, Sonia Reply Email sent, apologies for the extremely late reply. Reply sorry not sure if you already got my last message, my broswer died on me when I posted it. Anyway, I’m a 24 year old aspiring drain photographer in STk melb, and I’m looking for any info on good drains and tunnels about the place… I know of anzac and one near me between grey and carlisle st. I would love to know anything about tetris, maze, deathstar or anything else in between that would be worth checking out and taking some photos of. I tried joining cave clan but I work at sea all through summer and miss out on their new explorers expos so can never get in…. quite frustating and i’m terribly keen to have some adventure! if you know of anything or think you could be of help please hti me up email@example.com Reply Hello there, Thanks for the interest, I’m not a ‘Cave Clanian’ as such and have never really looked into drains myself. It’s not that I don’t find them interesting etc., it’s more or less just that I haven’t had the time to get to a CC Expo either. I do know the whereabouts of certain places and know CC members but I can’t for obvious reasons just hand out that information. A hint to finding interesting drains would be just follow the ‘canals’ that run around the inner suburbs, they all go underground eventually. The CC have previously run New Explorer Expo’s in the colder months, maybe get in touch with them to see if they would possibly have anything coming up in the near future. Sorry I can’t be of more help, but good luck. Reply Fair enough, you would not at all be willing to contact me privately discuss? I don’t even mind being introduced to a CC. Seeing as my work is broken up (work all summer and month on-month off thru winter) it makes it really hard lining up with people. Have contacted CC but from memory they are pretty slow getting back. Reply Email sent. Reply The photos are terrific. Now I know that I have to go and visit the location. Reply Matt, my interest in the photos of St. Paul’s Trai8ning School in Newhaven, is that my late father was sent there as a young boy for being ‘out of control’. He was a Ward of the State and was in the Minton’s Boys Home in Frankston. Because he was stubborn, the Matron (Mrs.Gilbert) said he was out of control. I fully intend going to Newhaven to walk around the gardens, and investigate the buildings. I am told that the buildings are closed, but there is a full time caretaker there. I cant seem to find out who owns the buildings, who the caretaker is, or who to contact so that I can go and see it. This is part of my quest in getting to know more about my father and his past. He passed away in 1999 and is and will be in my heart forever. Reply Hello Jill, The grounds of St Paul’s are open to the public and you are free to wander around. The buildings themselves were not accessible at the time I visited although both the buildings and grounds are very well maintained. I visited there on a weekday and did not see a caretaker or run into anybody else on the site, that’s not to say there isn’t one, however I don’t think he would be a live-in. Up until recently I believe it was owned by a school in Knox and was set to become one of their campuses, however they didn’t receive the funding and so the site was sold on (I’m not sure who to, sorry) and is meant to be having the internals gutted this year and will be turned into apartments. I’m sorry that I can’t be of much help, but good luck. Reply Hi Matt you took some photos for the Eclipse Park house in Lyndhurst a while ago . I am currently renovating the place , would you like to take some photos ? Reply I Anand, I apologise for the extremely late reply. I only just got back into my site I have since seen the house and you have done an amazing job on it. Thankyou for the offer, but I feel I’m too late. Reply I am a descendant of the original owner of Balmoral please call if you are still interested? Reply Oh really, I would be interested to know more. I don’t have a phone number. Do you have any contact with the current owners? Reply Leave a Reply Cancel reply Enter your comment here...
